PAELLA ANYONE??

Where does the time go?  We can't believe that it has been about 10 days since our last post.

Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend (it seems like a long time ago), we went to visit our good friends in Canton, Ohio.  We met Jim and Karen a little over 21 years ago on St. Patrick's Day.

They moved to Ohio about 14 years ago and we have remained good friends.  We all like to cook, eat and drink good wine.  Not necessarily in that order.

On Friday night, Jim had already planned our special dinner.  He had purchased an Outdoor Gas Cooking Paella Grill.  The paella included:  shrimp, mussels, clams, chicken, chorrizo and lots of other good stuff.  It was indeed a very tasty dinner.

Stay tuned as we will post other events of the weekend.

  1. Paella is one of the "goals" Josh and I have set for ourselves this summer. We have talked about it for some time now, and this is the year we will be doing it. The one Jim prepared looked fabulous! I never knew they had a special grill either! We will have to look into that:) As always, good pictures, a great read, and the added bonus of an idea for a potential "new purchase" for Josh's cooking arsenal!

The one Jim prepared looked fabulous! I never knew they made a specail grill for that purpose. I will have to look into it. 4. Making paella is a goal that Josh and I set for ourselves this Summer. We have been wanting to do it for quite some time. The one Jim made looks fabulous. I always enjoy reading your posts and looking at the pictures, today, however, I learned something new ..... never knew they made grills for paella! This may end up being a potential purchase .... I think Josh would love to have this item as part of his "cooking arsenal" :)

  5. Honey...we had never seen a paella grill either. If you want me to get any info from Jim on it, just let me know. There is also special rice you can order for paella. Jim didn't use it because we couldn't find it in any of the stores and he didn't have time to order over the Internet.

  6. Sam...I have bookmarked a page from Amazon....they sell it all :) I am going to show it to Josh and see what he thinks!! I used the picture you posted as my "guide" to finding the grill Jim had :) There are many sites that sell the rice ... we already have the saffron ... and Josh shops the Eastern Market ... so I think he is already hooked up as far as the meat and seafood goes. Your post and those pictures only reinforced my desire to finally do it!!!
