PREPARING FOR FIESTA MEXICANA - 201 YEARS

The city of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajauto, Mexico is preparing for the celebration of 201 years of independence.  All over town, decorations are going up and flags (banderas) are being sold.  Yesterday when we were in Centro, we bought our flag.  We will have to find a place to secure the bandera so it doesn't fly away in the wind.

The festivities will begin on Wednesday, September 14th, with a fundraiser for Feed the Hungry called, "Mexican Fiesta...Calle San Miguel".  Of course, we have our tickets as this is our favorite charity in San Miguel.

The following night at 11:00 p.m., will be "El Grito"..."Shout for Independece".  And on Friday, there will be many parades and activities.  We will definitely be sure to have a fresh pair of earplugs ready.
